Just go on loving this like water even when there’s none
A poetry-song collaboration that follows a person down the East coastline. Somewhere behind the lyrics are people who once picked things for a living – herrings, stones, and fruit and now find themselves working and singing in the shadow cast by a dome.
The melodies come loosely from ballads that moved through Suffolk. All the non-vocal material of the piece comes from recordings made of the beeps and drones of the power station.
This was a radio commission from the BBC New Creatives Scheme with support from NTS Radio and the ICA. Initial development also with the support of EFDSS and Britten Pears Arts.
